§ 125.243 Certificate holder's responsibilities. (a) With regard to airplanes, including airframes, aircraft engines, propellers, appliances, and survival and emergency equipment, operated by a certificate holder, that certificate holder is primarily responsible for— (1) Airworthiness; (2) The performance of maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alteration in accordance with applicable regulations and the certificate holder's manual; (3) The scheduling and performance of inspections required by this part; and (4) Ensuring that maintenance personnel make entries in the airplane maintenance log and maintenance records which meet the requirements of part 43 of this chapter and the certificate holder's manual, and which indicate that the airplane has been approved for return to service after maintenance, preventive maintenance, or alteration has been performed.
